I am here to tell anyone who will listen that the one that got "The People's Choice Award" DOES bear up under a second reading! XD

Also, just a few days ago, a friend asked me "Where is the link to that rock-bottom post you showed me earlier?" (It was yours!) Wonder if in the eschatological future, we find out that was the one that did the most good from this year. (But then again, maybe the Hapsburgs one for that TOO; people really need to laugh instead of getting hopelessly buried in despair about philosophy importing assumptions from its present context/moment, and humans being blindly arrogant! Or maybe the "wholesomeness" one!!)

I was pretty intrigued hearing your description of that book in "O then I see Queen Mab hath been with you" but then, I'm the person who read your amazed statement, "Freshman year takes like 300 of its 400+ pages" and went, "I support that author's choice. Some of us had to cram our entire CHILDHOODS into Freshman year of college!" Or possibly because of the feistyness of English majors looking down on engineering majors. (something that would never have occurred to me when I was in college, ha!)

Yay for first year of you being on substack!
